What is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy is “super-cooling” of the body in a safe, non-invasive manner. Humans have been using cryotherapy in one form or another for centuries - the icepack on a sprain or strain and the ice-bath are just two examples.
What is Full Body Cryotherapy?
Full body cryotherapy involves exposing the body to ultra-low temperatures ranging from -120 to -180 Celsius. During a session, you stand alone in a single-person Cryo Cabin. Your head remains outside the unit at room temperature. The torso, legs and arms are enclosed in the unit and are exposed to a fine cold mist for 3 minutes or less.
What are the benefits of Cryotherapy?
Research suggests Cryotherapy may help support:
- Recovery from injuries
- Athletic performance
- Healthy metabolism
- Reduced inflammation
- Relief from arthritis pain
- Healthy weight management
- Balanced mood
- Reduction in the risk of dementia
- Relief from the symptoms of eczema and psoriasis
- Relief from migraine headaches
- Healthy sleep patterns
- Optimum energy levels
- Anti-aging - supporting the production of collagen, significantly improving the appearance of cellulite and skin aging.
Who is it for?
Cryotherapy is for anyone who wants to improve their health, well-being, appearance and energy levels. It is extremely popular with athletes, with top European sporting associations and top US sportspeople using it in rehab and performance training. It is also popular with a growing number of A-list celebrities to enhance their appearance. The good news? Whole body cryotherapy will soon be available in New Zealand.
